Oatmeal is always a popular choice for breakfast and its one of the first complex carbohydrates that you can offer your baby.  It is generally well tolerated and easily digestible.  Oats are full of fiber and packed with micronutrients needed for proper growth and development.

In this recipe I roast the bananas but you can either leave the bananas raw or roast them. I typically alternate both when I prepare this for breakfast.  If you do have a picky eater try the roasted bananas, they are so sweet and smell absolutely divine.  Your baby will not be able to resist and will be waiting mouth wide open ready for the next bite!

Ingredients:

1 cup of organic rolled oats

1 1/2 cups of organic apple sauce

3 medium sized roasted bananas

1 tsp cinnamon

Set the oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit.  Slice the bananas into 1 inch thick slices and put into the oven for 25 minutes.  Boil and add water to the oats.  Either add fresh peeled apples to the blender or select an organic apple sauce.  Add all the ingredients to the blender and mix together.  Voila!

*Get creative and add in some of their favorite pureed berries as well. Our favourites are blueberries, raspberries and blackberries. **Hold off on the strawberries until they are at least a year old as they are a common food allergen.

This breakfast is so absolutely delicious that you will be sneaking bites from your babe.  Savvy moms if you need some breakfast ideas for yourself check out my breakfast blog.
